"We go down to Brushy Creek for a while and have us a good time"

Today I went to Brushy Creek greenbelt in Cedar Park, Texas. Been there a few times recently, and as the Josh Abbott Band says in their song titled "Brushy Creek", I had me "a good time". Check it out... :-)

Anyways, back to the running. This trail is a variety of surfaces to run on. The entire trail is about 6-7 miles one way I believe. It seems like there is always new trail development! If you do the trail out and back, you can run/bike as much as 14 miles out there! Pretty sweet considering it's in the middle of a suburban area.

I started at Brushy Creek Lake Park and set out westbound today. If you travel this way, the trail ends at the Twin Lakes YMCA. There are restrooms here and water fountains also. This portion of the trail is about half shade/half sun (which can be pretty brutal in the summer). It meanders under lots of big Oak trees and of course the cedar trees here and there. The creek is pretty dry right now, but I can only just imagine it raging when there has been rain.

Seems like no matter what time of day, there are always people using this trail which I like! Today was a nice relaxing run, thanks Brushy Creek!

Total Distance today: 6 miles
Long story short: Mostly concrete, partial shade, close to house!
